Instructor:- KIM ANWI
Introduces the third odour of Clove and takes the handler teams to a whole new level of trusting their dogs. Search durations will be increased and search strategies will be further refined. We will discuss and begin preparations for ORT’s (Odour Recognition Test) and Trialling. The Continuing Nose Work classes will build skill in specific components in the K9 Nose Work program to help build or maintain proficiency. In Continuing Nose Work, we build a dog’s confidence through developing a solid foundation and continually revisiting that foundation while slowly moving through appropriately broadening, yet successful experiences. As a handler, your confidence is built through understanding the training process, learning to read your dog, understanding what you are seeing, in both your dog and in the environment, and cultivating the ability to trust your dog.
Fostering autonomy and building independence in your dog are paramount to that trust. These classes are specifically designed for those students seeking addition practice and are recommended for anyone interested in trialling.
